Introduction:

The Human Rights Protection Commission (HRPC) is an independent body dedicated to promoting, protecting, and enforcing human rights through advocacy, legal intervention, policy reform, and public awareness. Committed to transparency, accountability, and justice, HRPC works to ensure that fundamental rights are upheld in accordance with national and international human rights laws. We collaborate with public institutions, civil society organizations, and legal bodies to combat human rights violations and foster a society where dignity, equality, and freedom are guaranteed for all.

Mission Statement:

To safeguard and promote human rights by ensuring governmental accountability, legal compliance, and public empowerment. HRPC is committed to investigating violations, advocating for legal reforms, conducting awareness campaigns, and providing legal assistance to individuals and communities affected by human rights abuses.

 

Vision Statement:

A just and equitable society where every individual enjoys fundamental human rights without fear of discrimination, oppression, or injustice. HRPC envisions a future where transparency, rule of law, and public participation strengthen democratic values and protect human dignity.

Objectives of HRPC :

  • Promote Human Rights Awareness: Conduct awareness campaigns, workshops, and seminars to educate the public on their fundamental rights as enshrined in the Constitution and international human rights treaties.
  • Ensure Government Transparency & Accountability: Advocate for the enforcement of transparency laws, such as the Right to Information Act, to ensure public institutions operate with integrity and accountability.
  • Investigate Human Rights Violations: Monitor and investigate cases of human rights abuses, including unlawful detentions, discrimination, forced labor, and violations of freedom of expression.
  • IProvide Legal Assistance & Advocacy: Offer legal support, representation, and counseling to victims of human rights violations, ensuring access to justice and fair legal proceedings.
  • Conduct Public Inspections & Audits: Inspect public institutions, construction projects, and public service facilities to ensure compliance with laws and protection of citizens’ rights.
  • Strengthen Legal & Policy Frameworks: Engage with policymakers, legislators, and government bodies to propose legal reforms that enhance human rights protection.

  • Defend Workers’ Rights & Fair Wages: Advocate for labor rights, ensuring compliance with wage laws, safe working conditions, and protection against exploitation.

  • Protect Freedom of Speech & Press: Support journalists, activists, and media professionals in their right to report freely without fear of persecution or censorship.

  • Foster Community Engagement & Participation: Encourage citizens to actively participate in governance, hold authorities accountable, and report human rights violations through a structured complaint mechanism.

  • Collaborate with National & International Human Rights Bodies: Work with governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as international human rights commissions, to advance human rights protections globally.
